BILLING TIPS:
1. You use the 96127 with a 59 modifier if you are giving clients assessments such as BDI’s and PHQ9’s.
2. You can use a 90785 add on code with a 59 modifier for anything that makes therapy harder such as being a poor historian, speaking different languages, rumination, and THIS.
3. Utilizing groups or hiring an NP can maximize revenue for you and diversify your group.
4. Verification of benefits should be done prior to a first appointment so that the client knows exactly what they will need to pay before ever attending.
5. Some plans like BCBS have local plans and you always need to select the payer ID for the state you are credentialed with. For example, I always select TEXAS, even if the card says BCBS of Arkansas.
*Please note if including the add on codes to a telehealth session you need to also include a 95 modifier.
